About the accommodation
You might call it a country hotel; you might call it a collection of quirky hotel houses and huts nestled in a hillside within a 400 acre private estate; you might even call it the gateway to a world of relaxation and outdoor adventure. Whichever; we call it The Fish – and we think you’re going to like it. This is a new kind of country hotel. It's affordable but not budget, stylish but not pretentious, and outdoorsy but just as happy to stay in and put our feet up by the fire. The Fish is your back-to-nature bolt-hole with a little touch of luxury. The Fish’s 68 contemporary country bedrooms are located on the hillside and are spread throughout four individual buildings. We also have five new for 2017 ‘Hilly Huts’ nestled into the woodland. Whether you snuggle up in a Cosy, plump for a Cosy Luxe, bring the kids and stay in one of the Compact Suites or treat yourself to one of our four super-sized Spacious Rooms, you’re assured Scandi-style modern-rustic good looks, in everything from the Shaker pegs to the tea tin. Some of The Fish’s bedrooms are also dog-friendly – just let us know if you’re packing a pooch and we’ll provide a bed, bowl, towel and treats. Dogs are welcome in the bar, but the restaurant is strictly humans-only.
